MMM Style: Red Wing Boots

by Clark (bio)

Before: Don't know if you know this, but if you take your Red Wing boots into their store, they'll give you new shoe laces and oil the leather for free. Not a bad deal yeah? I got these 1975-era Irish Setter Red Wing Boots the other day and took them in for their latest refurbishing. I decided to get them re-soled as well. Shoes or clothing don't really get me going, but I must say I'm pretty pumped to get these back in a week.

After: I got my boots back. I'm quite happy with them. They now have new soles, a new layer of polish, and some crisp clean laces. I'm gonna have these things for the rest of my life, no doubt about it.

MMM Style 3: Growing Old With Style

by Seattle Jon (bio)

Charlie and I obsess over whether or not we'll grow old together. Do you?

MMM Style 2: Nippon Style

by Seattle Jon (bio)

I served my mission in South Japan in the mid-1990's, and remember noticing many Japanese youth experimenting with hair color and clothing style ... often with poor results. One sixteen year-old teenager changed his hair color so often over the course of us teaching him the discussions that I worried the font water would turn purple when we baptized him. Judging from the photos below, though, it looks like Japanese youth are finally starting to figure it out.

1 - Love the informal look of this youth in a kimono, a traditionally formal garment (Sartorialist)

2 - Wish I could look this cool carrying a man-purse (Sartorialist)

3 - Thought ScottHeff would like this one, given his love of skating. I am always on the lookout for shoes like this even though my wife often donates them back to Goodwill. (Sartorialist)

4 - The pioneer- and scouting-inspired outfits have me wondering - could this be two mormon teenagers in love?  (Sartorialist)

MMM Style 1: Collars, Caps and Colors

by Seattle Jon (bio)

I enjoy fashion, but I am not what you would call a stylish man. Thanks to my body type (short arms, thick legs), fit is most important, and what fits doesn't always look good. What I do enjoy is feeling inspired to try something new, something different, even if what inspires me never makes it onto my body. So, what I hope from this new series is to share with you, our readers, some of the looks that inspire me. What looks are inspiring you right now?

1 - like the collar, could a modern mormon man pull this off at church? (original post)
2 - this guy is well put together ... love the cap. (original post)
3 - I often wear clothes that are too big (see guy in suit). This reminded me that slim is okay. Shoes are cool, too. (original post)
4 - I like it when Charlie wears colors that make her outfit pop ... she'd look good in this. (original post)
